I am writing to recommend the services of Secure Retail POS for anyone seeking this type of system.  Goodwill Industries of Alberta made the change to a new POS system in all of our thirteen stores about a year and a half ago working with Andrew and the Secure Team in not only procuring the right system for our type of retail business, but also the installation in the first three stores and the training of our IT team member to continue on with the remainder of our store installations. 

The Secure POS equipment has worked well for us for the past year and a half and the training and ongoing support of our team members has been tremendous.  When those inevitable issues arise with any technology the Secure Team is quick to respond and always have the answers and solutions to our problems.

Additionally I can attest to the fact that this POS system has increased the productivity and speed of our back room processes as well as the speed in which we are able to move our customers through our cash lines.

Goodwill Industries of Southern Oregon (Southern Oregon Goodwill) has 9 retail locations with a POS system already in place. Southern Oregon Goodwill was looking for a back-room production system that would allow us to enable embedded barcode price tags. At the time, our cashiers had to hand enter each item the customer wanted to purchase. Additionally, back room production counts were manually tabulated. This created a situation that was both labor intensive, inefficient for our customers and drastically decreased the number of customers we could check out during the day. We needed a solution that addressed those concerns.

From the first time we met with Secure Retail, we knew that our project needs could be met. They understood our challenges and respected the individuality of our company’s wishes and goals. Secure Retail demonstrated a firm grasp of the concepts and processes of the retail thrift industry. It was for this reason that we decided to align ourselves with Secure Retail POS.

All 9 stores are now completely implemented with Secure Retail POS Tagging software.

The staff at Secure Retail met with us to discuss our needs and quickly formed a plan to get us where we needed to be. Customization of the application was seamless and they attention to detail was above par. From planning to configuration to implementation took less than 30 days.

As a result, our stores are now scanning bar coded price tags and production employees are more accurate in their counts. Within the first month, we saw a significant increase in the number of customers we could get through our checkout lines. Additionally, our customers were more satisfied because of reduced wait times in check out lines. Our employees love the new system!

The system provides excellent base line reports. Additionally, customization of the interface is just a phone call away. With a SQL backend, customized reports can easily be constructed by a SQL developer or someone familiar with SQL Reporting Services.

I would recommend not only the Secure Retail Production system, but having seen their POS system in action, would cast a strong vote in teaming both systems together for a compete POS solution.

Secure Retail POS provides a great product for thrift stores.
